HRC Upgrade Options

This article explains the upgrade options from HRC Classic to HRC Pro, outlining the process for both subscription and non-recurring licenses.

Upgrade Options in HRC

HRC Classic licenses can be upgraded to HRC Pro at any time. This allows you to explore the features of HRC Classic without worry, knowing that you can easily upgrade to HRC Pro and receive full credit for any remaining subscription time. To upgrade, simply navigate to Help: Registration: Upgrade License within the software. The available upgrade options will depend on whether you currently have a subscription or a non-recurring license.

Subscription Upgrades

If you have an active HRC Classic subscription, upgrading to HRC Pro will provide a prorated credit for the remaining time in your current subscription period. This credit will be calculated based on the unused days and the original price of your subscription.

Example: Upgrading a Yearly Subscription

Let's say you have a yearly HRC Classic subscription priced at $119.90 per year, and there are 250 days remaining in the license period. Here's how the upgrade cost would be calculated:

  1. Calculate the credit: 250 days / 365 days * $119.90 = $82.12 credit for the unused portion of the Classic subscription.
  2. Calculate the cost for the remaining period at the Pro price: 250 days / 365 days * $359.90 = $246.51.
  3. Subtract the credit from the new cost: $246.51 - $82.12 = $164.39. This is the net cost to upgrade for the remaining 250 days of the subscription.

After the upgrade, your license will continue for the remaining 250 days as HRC Pro. Once this period ends, your subscription will renew automatically at the regular yearly price for HRC Pro.

Please note: The exact upgrade process and credit calculation may vary slightly depending on the specifics of your existing subscription. You can view the precise details for your license by navigating to Help: Registration: Upgrade License within the HRC software.

Non-Recurring Upgrades

For users with non-recurring HRC Classic licenses, upgrading to HRC Pro involves converting your existing license to an HRC Pro license with a shorter duration. The upgrade dialog within the software (Help: Registration: Upgrade License) will display a preview of the new expiration date before you confirm the upgrade.

How License Time is Adjusted

To account for the price difference between HRC Classic and HRC Pro, the remaining license time is shortened by a factor of 4. For instance, if you upgrade a new 12-month HRC Classic license ($119.9) to HRC Pro, your resulting HRC Pro license will be valid for 3 months (also priced at $119.9 as the quarterly option).
