PokerAce HUD Linux Tutorial
This tutorial describes how to setup PokerAce Hud in wine. I used Ubuntu 7.04, but the process should be very similar for most distributions.
I will assume you already have a working Linux PokerTracker installation.
Here is how to get PAHud working:
- Install PAHud
- Add library overrides for PAHud.
Run these 2 commands in your shell:
wget http://www.holdemresources.net/hr/linuxpoker/pahud/pahud-reg.txt
regedit pahud-reg.txt
Note for advanced users:
We simply override everything but ODBC to builtin/native, and change the Windows-Version to WinXP.
Everything essential works perfectly fine on PokerStars and FullTilt Poker. Other sites were not tested.
What doesn't work:
- Popup-Stats do not work at all.
- Flicker-Free-Drawing causes the whole table to be overdrawn.
- PokerStars memory scanner option causes major CPU usage. The normal HandHistory method works fine.
- wine releases 0.9.45 - 0.9.47 seem to break PAHud. ("Error creating timer."-message at startup). I filed a bug report at winehq.com concerning this problem. You can track the status: here. Until this is fixed, i recommend using wine <=0.9.44.
